Army Eligibility Criteria Full Details Documents mentioned at Paragraph 1 to 11 above are required in original alongwith one photocopy of each document duly attested by Principal / Headmaster / Gazetted Rank Officer. Attested photocopy / printout of education certificate obtained from the Internet duly attested by the school Principal will be accepted at the Rally site for candidates whose original certificates have not been received from the concerned education board after declaration of the result or for candidates who have deposited their certificates in some other institute where they might be undergoing some professional course.

Documents Indian Army Eligibility Criteria Details-
Documents Required at the Rally Site

  1. Educational Certificate / Marksheet issued by the Recognized Education Board.
  2. Residence Certificate with photograph issued by the authorised signatory of the State Government / Tehsildar / SDM.
  3. Caste Certificate with photograph to be signed by Village Sarpanch except in the case of SIKH (Mazbi and Ramdasia), Gujjar and Gorkha candidates wherein it is reqd to be signed by the authorised signatory of the State Government / Tehsildar / SDM. Candidates belonging to Dogra Community to produce certificate with photograph issued by Tehsildar / Authorised Government Signatory.
  4. Religion Certificate issued by the authorised signatory of the State Government / Tehsildar / SDM.
  5. School Character Certificate issued by the Schools / Colleges Principal / Headmaster.
  6. Character Certificate with photograph issued by the Village Sarpanch / Municipal Corporation / Police issued within last six months. Unmarried Certificate with photograph issued by Village Sarpanch / District Administration issued within last six months (If candidate is below 21 years of age).
  7. Relationship Certificate issued by concerned Records Office (Applicable for only the Son of Serving Soldiers / Widows / War Widows and Ex-servicemen).
  8. NCC A / B / C Certificates. In case of NCC Certificate holders relevant certificates and certificate for participation in Republic Day Parade to be produced for dispensation.
  9. Sports Certificate to be produced if represented in the following: (a) Represented India at International level, (b) Represented State at National Level. (c) Represented District at National Level.
  10. Candidates having O+ Level Computer Certificate ‘Business Professional Programmer’ issued by the DOEACC Society.
  11. Latest passport size photographs. Both the ears of the candidates must be visible and SIKH (Mazbi and Ramdasia) candidates must have photograph in turban and without turban.
  12. Kandi area certificate for applicable candidates to be issued by Tehsildar / Authorised Government Signatory.
  13. Adhaar & Pan Card.


Educational Qualification and Age Criteria


  1. Category- Soldier (General Duty)  (All Arms).
    Education- SSLC / Matric with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. No percentage considered in case candidate has passed with higher qualification ie 10+2 and above.
    Age-  17 ½ – 21 Yrs.
  2. Category- Soldier (Technical) (Technical Arms,  Artillery, Army Air Defence).
    Education-  (a)Sol Tech 10+2/Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject.(b)Sol Tech (Aviation & Ammunition Examiner) 10 +2 / Intermediate exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject.OR Three years Diploma in Engg (Mechanical /Electrical/ Automobiles/ Computer Science Mechanical Engg and Electronic & Instrumentation Engg) from a recognized Polytechnic Institute.
    Age- 17 ½ – 23 Yrs.
  3. Category-  Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical.
    Education- (I) Should have secured 50% marks In each subject and 60% marks in aggregate in class XII. (II) Should have studied English and Maths/Accts/ Book Keeping in Class XII or X and should have secured min 50% marks in each of these subjects, whether studied in Class XII or X. (III) Even if a candidate is a graduate or has a higher qualification percentage marks scored in Class XII would be applicable towards his eligibility.
    Age-  17 ½ – 23 Yrs.
  4. Category-  Soldier Nursing Assistant.
    Education- 10+2 / Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% in each subject. OR In case the candidate has a BSc Degree with (Botany / Zoology / Bio-Science) and English, the stipulation of percentage in Class-XII is waived off. However, the candidate should have studied all the four specified subjects in Class XII also.
    Age-  17 ½ – 23 Yrs.
  5. Category- Soldier Tradesmen (All Arms except Syce, Mess Keeper and House Keeper ).
    Education- 10th / ITI.
    Age- 17 ½ – 23 Yrs.
  6. Category- Soldier Tradesmen (Syce, Mess Keeper and House Keeper).
    Education-  8th Pass.
    Age- 17 ½ – 23 Yrs.
  7. Category- Survey Automated Cartographer.
    Education- BA/BSc with Maths. Must have also passed 12th class(10+2) or equivalent with Maths and Science as main subjects.
    Age- 20-25 Yrs.
  8. Category- Junior Commissioned Officer Religious Teacher (All Arms).
    Education- Graduate in any discipline. In addition requisite qualification in his own religious denomination.
    Age- 27-34 Yrs.
  9. Category- Junior Commissioned Officer Catering




    Education- 10+2 or equivalent exam and Diploma / Certificate Course of a duration of one year or more in Cookery Hotel Management and Catering Technology from a recognized University / Food Craft Institute. AICTE recognition is not mandatory.
    Age- 21-27 Yrs.
  10. Category- Havildar Education

    Education- Group X – MA / MSc / MCA or BA / BSc / BCA / BSc (IT) with B Ed Group Y – BSc/BA/BCA/B Sc (IT) (w/o B Ed.).

    Age- 20-25 Yrs.

 

 

Height, Chest and Weight

Minimum Height, Unexpanded Chest and Weight for All Categories-  The entire country has been divided into six regions namely, Western Plains Region, Eastern Plains Region, Central Region, Southern Region, Western Himalayan Region and Eastern Himalayan Region. The minimum physical standards for the various regions are as follows:
  1. Regions- Western Himalayan Region.
    States- Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab Hills (Area South and West of the Inter State Border between Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and North and East of Road Mukerian, Hoshiarpur, Garh Shankar, Ropar and Chandigarh), Garhwal and Kumaon (Uttarakhand).
    Height (Cms)- 163.
    Weight (Kgs)- 48.
    Chest (Cms)- 77.
  2. Regions- Eastern Himalayan Region.
    States- Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam and Hill Region of West Bengal (Gangtok, Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts).
    Height (Cms)- 160.
    Weight (Kgs)- 48.
    Chest (Cms)- 77.
  3. Regions- Western Plains Region.
    States- Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh,Delhi, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh (Meerut and Agra Division).
    Height (Cms)– 170.
    Weight (Kgs)- 50.
    Chest (Cms)- 77.
  4. Regions- Eastern Plains Region.
    States- Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa.
    Height (Cms)- 169.

  5. Regions- Central Region.
    States- Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Dadar, Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.

  6. Regions-Southern Region.

* Dispensation in chest measurement of 01 cm has been granted for Soldier Technical category in the Central Region.

Note:*- Regional physical standards lower than the standards laid down in Paragraph (h) above will be applicable to clerical candidates belonging to those region.

Educational Qualification for Soldier General Duty 

Class X Simple Pass (instead of 45% aggregate and 33% in each subject)
  1. Jammu & Kashmir State- (Less Jammu, Sambha & Kathua Districts) and Ladakh Region including Kargil District.
  2. Uttarakhand State- Batwari Tehsil of Uttarkashi District, Okhimath Tehsil of Rudraprayag distt, Joshimath Tehsil of Chamoli District, Berinag, Didihat, Dharchula and Munsiari Tehsils of Pithoragarh district.
  3. Himachal Pradesh- District of Kinnaur, Lahul – Spiti.
  4. Gujarat State- Rapar and Lakhpat Tehsils of Kutch District.
  5. North East States -State of Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya.
  6. Rajasthan State- Jaisalmer and Barmer District and Shergarh, Osian and Phalaudi Tehsils of Jodhpur District.
  7. Punjab State- Candidates from Punjab who are domiciled within aerial distance of 20 Kms from the International Border (IB).
  8. Andaman & Nicobar Group of Islands. Settlers.
  9. Class / Community. All Gorkhas (Nepalese and Indian).

 

Class VIII Simple Pass-
  1. Jammu & Kashmir State- Ladakh Region including Kargil District.
  2. Sikkim State.
  3. Andaman & Nicobar Group of Islands- Tribals and Aboriginals.
  4. Lakshadweep & Nicobar Group of Islands.
  5. North East States – States of Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
  6. Class / Community – Scheduled Tribes from all States of India.
Bonus Marks-
The following Bonus Marks will be awarded on qualifying in the written examination to under mentioned categories :
